That’s Good HR has partnered with a company on the northwest side of Indianapolis hiring a Purchasing Specialist-Procurement.

Salary: $18.00 – $20.00

Job Type: Full Time, Temp to Hire, Temporary to Hire

Hours: 11:30 am – 8:00 pm.

Procurement Purchasing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all activities related to procurement of goods and implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations
  • Maintain Indirect catalogs item pricing and partners with internal department to position items
  • Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the goods and services balanced against the optimum quality, requirements and business needs
  • Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, supplier set up forms, questionnaires, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records
  • Maintain supplier relationships, strong communication and identify relationships for future needs
  • Gather data and run reports on supplier performance
  • Prepare and create supplier set up, purchase orders by obtaining and verifying accurate information in compliance with procedures
  • Establish strong relationships with facility providers to ensure business continuity
  • Minimize risk thorough negotiation, internal communication and collaboration to achieve on time business goals
  • Recognize contract issues; ability to balance the commercial position with facilitation of third party contract issue resolution to meet business expectations
  • Comply with policies daily supply management activity
  • Make timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or law
  • Professionally exercise discretion and independent judgment

Procurement Purchasing Specialist Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or related field (or minimum of three to five years of related experience), required
  • Bachelor’s degree, (preferred)
  • One year experience in purchasing
